ABSTRACT
The importance of conserving biodiversity is now widely recognised. However, there is still very little explicit detailed recording of biodiversity at the individual enterprise level, whether that be governmental, NGO or business (see, for example, Rimmel and Jonäll, 2013; Van Liempd and Busch, 2013). If we are seriously to protect biodiversity then this needs to be urgently addressed. We cannot protect or enhance biodiversity if we do not know its quality and quantity. Organisations are stewards of the environment and, therefore, need to record this stewardship by, for example, biodiversity inventories.
