ABSTRACT

The loss of species and their habitat, together with climate change and usage of natural resources have placed “much of our biological heritage at risk” (Thorpe and Stanley, 2011, p. 275). Biodiversity can be an important resource to sustain ‘life’ (Suneetha, 2010), and indeed a source of economic livelihood for a variety of stakeholders (Dudley et al., 2005; Houdet et al., 2009). But it is being lost (Cadotte, 2011). 1
