ABSTRACT
While another round of international conferences on sustainable development goes on without any results, the crisis of the early twenty-first century proceeds relentlessly. Scholars have begun to see it as a great multifaceted crisis, in contrast to the more limited crises of the last twenty years, which were not seen then as so tightly interwoven as they are now.
