ABSTRACT

West Papua, just 250 km north of Australia, is home to one of the most repressed and exploited peoples in the world. Over almost half a century, Papuans have suffered untold harms — mass killings, torture, ‘disappearances’, environmental destruction, resource pillage and the devastation of communities — at the hands of state and corporate officials. Yet, even in such bleak circumstances, Papuans have continually resisted such violations. 2
