ABSTRACT
In the three-year project (2008–2011) Open Woodlands Through Pasture, such woodlands have been searched for and examined to find out why this old land-use activity is kept alive and what effects it has on biodiversity. The spatial focus of the study is the federal state Baden-Wuerttemberg in south-west Germany.
