ABSTRACT

As divorce rates continue to rise, there is an increasing focus on minimizing conflict between the husband and wife throughout the process of separation, divorce, and beyond. Research findings suggest children will fare better if divorce is handled in the most amicable way, if the costs are not financially devastating, and if the parents can maintain a positive relationship and develop a viable plan for coparenting. In this way, new and different possibilities can materialize for restructuring the family and moving forward.
