ABSTRACT

This book is a collection of some of the latest research work of creativity researchers among different universities all over the world. Compared to its ‘cousin’, ‘innovation’, academic research on ‘creativity’ has been less written about in journals and books. This is so in spite of the fact that creativity has a profound role in many different subject disciplines, such as business, music and education. With the fresh research work conducted and produced by different creativity researchers, this book will first introduce creativity from an interdisciplinary perspective, then discuss the environmental determinants of creativity development, followed by creativity research in three different subject disciplines, i.e. business, music and education. The book will be of interest and importance to researchers across different subject disciplines, as well as students and practitioners, who will be able to grasp a clear understanding about, among others, the conceptions, importance, environmental determinants, interdisciplinary nature, and applications of creativity talked through by some of the leading creativity researchers affiliated with different universities in different parts of the world.
