ABSTRACT
Introduction Palestine has experienced division and occupation for several decades with severe effects on tourism to that area and to the Holy sites such as Bethlehem, Jericho, Nablus, Ramallah and East Jerusalem. This chapter presents an analysis of the ramifications of tourism in an environment effectively controlled by an external power – Israel – with subsequent restrictions on access to and mobility within Palestine.
