ABSTRACT

Human figure drawing (HFD) has been used as a measure of projected self, based on one’s body image since Machover’s work in 1949. Subjects do not only project on drawing their present self (Hammer, 1958) but also threat perceived in others (Falk, 1981) among other projections. Family drawings release additional feelings in the context of family interpersonal relationships (Burns & Kaufman, 1972; Di Leo, 1983).
