ABSTRACT

Scholars could be viewed as influential stakeholders in mergers and acquisitions because through their research focus they set the agenda for how mergers and acquisitions are viewed by other researchers as well as practitioners. So what stake do they have in mergers and acquisitions? I would argue their stake is to justify why they should study mergers and acquisitions, and their justification comes by their portraying mergers and acquisitions in a certain way. Let me explain what this portrayal might look like.
