ABSTRACT
Worldwide, people are migrating to the coast, attracted by access to food, transport connections, ports, and work and leisure opportunities. Coastal cities are growing rapidly in population, and require the provision of adequate infrastructure and services to meet demand. This accelerating coastal development is taking place under the assumption of a stable and unchanging coastal environment.
