ABSTRACT
As the economy expands, the interdependencies between the economy and its environment are becoming more and more evident. We have now reached a situation where the size and form of our activities may endanger core functionalities of the environment – e.g., climate change and biodiversity loss – potentially threatening the long-term sustainability of the economy itself.
