ABSTRACT

Māori have a wondrous capacity to make sense of happenings in our everyday lives. We attribute meaning to words and actions. We interpret feelings and emotions. We recognize pain and hurt. We celebrate triumphs and achievements. We also represent the meanings we create through relationships, art, music, words, and behavior. Meanings are intuited, circulated, built upon, molded, enjoyed, and contested. This is everyday life and everyday learning.
