ABSTRACT

Green growth has emerged in recent years, as a multi-decade strategy to coherently address today’s recurring global challenges of economic uncertainty, development crisis, environmental degradation and climate reality. It is a strategy for a hyper-connected, 24/7 world, where risk is intensifying and systemic shocks – from man or nature – seem to be more frequent, more severe and more visible (ICC 2012; OECD 2011; World Bank 2012), as described in Figure 1.1 below.
