While creative ability and the disposition to use it vary from person to person, it is neither the unique possession of a few, special, gifted people nor is it confi ned to particular areas of activity (Prentice 2000 ). Nor does the act have to produce something of great novelty or signifi cance to the world to be creative. We are all creative from time to time as when we solve the problems of everyday life. And included in this are children who, like adults, are being creative when they make or think of something which is new to them (Thurstone 1952 ).
