ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses the architecture of the innovation networks in the two knowledge-intensive sectors that were analysed separately in the previous chapters: biotechnology (molecular biology) and software (for telecommunications). The main goal is to identify and explain the similarities and differences in the configuration of the networks mobilized by young entrepreneurial firms to access the resources and competences necessary for innovation in each sector, using the Portuguese case as the empirical setting.
