ABSTRACT

The original version of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI; Hathaway & McKinley, 1943) was the most frequently used self-report inventory measuring personality and psychopathology (Lubin, Larsen, & Matarazzo, 1984; Piotrowski & Keller, 1989) as well as the most researched (Reynolds & Sundberg, 1976). This pattern has continued with the MMPI–2 (Butcher et al., 2001), which is used in a variety of settings (Camara, Nathan, & Puente, 2000; Archer, Buffington-Vollum, Stredny, & Handel, 2006) and remains the most frequently investigated psychological test (Butcher & Rouse, 1996).
