ABSTRACT

The first question to ask is why do Orthodox Christians believe in God as Trinity? There is a tradition within Christianity that teaches that the source for such a belief is Christ himself: Christ, being fully divine, was always aware of his divinity, and revealed his true identity, i.e. that he is the God–man, to his disciples through his miracles, teachings, and ultimately, in his resurrection. The divinity of Christ and the Holy Spirit is something which was taught from the beginning by the apostles, which the church has preserved through its apostolic tradition and defended against heresies.
