ABSTRACT

Human Behavior is at the heart of the global environmental crisis. Therefore, it would seem prudent to incorporate the field of psychology under the umbrella of environmental studies and sustainability science. This will, in turn, enable us to move beyond solely addressing the symptoms of the problem (e.g., global warming, deforestation, or over-fishing) so that we may also begin to tackle the inherently unsustainable nature of human–environmental relations from a fundamental philosophical and behavioral standpoint.
