ABSTRACT

The present chapter aims to discuss how mobile networks are being used by individuals (as social citizens) for joining strategically political schemes, aimed at enhancing their social participation in civil society. This discussion reflects on a theoretical framework drawn from the philosophical arguments of the conceptual Dasein of Heidegger’s Being and Time (Heidegger 1962) as well as from other postmodern discourses presented by Castells (2001, 2004), Giddens (1984), Habermas (1984a, 1984b) and Myerson (2001).
