ABSTRACT
There is an increasingly wide range of publications available about different aspects of the theory and practice of museum work. The books here represent a good selection from which a small to medium-sized museum may choose a number of key texts to develop a working library. They are all in the English language and are listed with their ISBN numbers for reference purposes. The list has been arranged in sections to refl ect the structure of Museum Basics, although in a number of cases you will fi nd that books cover more than one area of interest. The list does not include the wide range of journals relevant to museum work which should also be considered in building a museum library. Discussion of other sources of information for the museum can be found in Units 108-109.
