ABSTRACT

Workplace relationships can be thought of as a special category of relationships. They are unique in some ways but also share a great deal with the broader realm of relationships. Several types of relationships exist both in and out of workplace. These include friendships, romantic relationships, sexual relationships, parenting relationships, and sibling relationships. Other types of relationships are more common in organizational contexts. These include formal and informal mentoring relationships, leader– follower relationships, supervisor–subordinate relationships, and coworker relationships.
