ABSTRACT

Whereas it is uncontroversial that energy systems will have to undergo dramatic changes over the next decades, the most fruitful ways of achieving such transitions are unclear and disputed. Several countries are trying to position themselves as leaders in governing their energy transition. The Dutch transition management (TM) approach has attracted academic attention in a variety of other countries. There have been a number of very lively debates between Dutch researchers and colleagues from abroad about the model of transition management and about how it has been implemented in the Energy Transition project as described in the previous chapter.
