ABSTRACT
Since the American Revolutionary War, the role of citizen/warriors has been vital to national security. As of 1908, the U.S. Army Reserve’s mission has been essential and complementary to the U.S. Army’s mission of defending and protecting the United States from external threats and responding to national emergencies. In this current era of America at war, army reserve soldiers and their families have carried heavy burdens and have made significant sacrifices.
