ABSTRACT

Civil society organizations (CSOs) and networks concerned with the role of transnational corporations (TNCs) in development and governance constitute a significant force for regulatory change. This is apparent both in their formal role in the governance of ‘co-regulatory’ and ‘non-state regulatory’ institutions referred to in the preceding and subsequent chapters, as well as in myriad forms of action associated with, for example, protest, advocacy campaigns, lobbying, ‘naming and shaming’, critical research and redress.
