ABSTRACT

In order for the dramatherapy and psychodynamic processes discussed in Chapters 1 and 2 to be harnessed for healing, growth and change, the potential space must be created and maintained. Within this the context of dramatic text work itself can become another potential space. Certain conditions must prevail in order for that potential space to exist. They are not different from those I would use in any dramatherapy group in essence and the principles offer much to those working in education and in theatre, as we shall see in Chapters 4-10. I realize I may be covering very obvious ground for some of my colleagues but I hope they may move on to areas which may be less familiar later in the chapter.
