ABSTRACT

A major hypothesis, that we did want to examine by means of the case studies presented at the conference, is how and in what respects the models-policy interaction depends upon the institutional arrangements? This involves both organizational design and communication channels between modelling economists on the one hand and policy makers on the other hand. Essentially this is the background of our question ‘What makes the models-policy interaction successful?’ Here we draw on the ideas already outlined above on networked organizations, and the process of transforming tacit into explicit knowledge.
