ABSTRACT
This chapter is based on my experience as a full-time youth worker managing a youth club in London. It was an eventful time, which coincided with the period when I was doing my counselling training. I wondered how the theoretical material I was studying could help me to understand what went on in this setting, and in generating insight into what decisions and policies were needed to run the club successfully.
