ABSTRACT
Colombia is located in the north-western region of South America, bordering to the east with Venezuela and Brasil; to the south with Ecuador and Peru; to the north with the Atlantic Ocean, through the Caribbean Sea; and to the west with Panama and the Pacific Ocean. Colombia is the 26th largest nation in the world and the fourth largest country in South America after Brasil, Argentina and Peru. Strategically situated in the centre of the American continent, it has agreements that support diplomatic relations with its neighbours at all administrative and political levels, and uses sport as a bridge to reduce inequality and poverty.
