Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this chapter the reader should be able to:

recognize and understand the policy factors influencing international sporting success and how the success can be managed;

define what an elite sport policy is; interpret and explain the critical success factors (CSFs) used to assess such policies; and

apply the policy dimensions (called pillars) and its CSFs outlined to other relevant sporting contexts.
