ABSTRACT

Recent Ofsted reports (HMSO 1996/96, 1997/98) have noted that, generally, while good work in ICT was going on at Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 children were underachieving. We decided to carry out an inquiry with Key Stage 2 children in four classrooms where trainee teachers on the four-year BA (QTS) programme were finishing their Final Block Placement before graduation. All of the trainees had successfully completed the ICT section of the Qualified Teacher Status examinations.
