ABSTRACT

All the items in this section are group paintings in which several people contribute jointly to one piece of paper or one finished product. The differences between group paintings lie in the ‘ground rules’ set out, and each of the ideas below has selected a different set of these rules, which then influences what happens. (The type of group, setting, environment, etc. also influences what happens, of course. See Chapter 2 in Part One.) As well as showing individuals’ perceptions, group paintings often reveal very power-fully (and sometimes painfully) some of the group dynamics operating.
