ABSTRACT
The numerous efforts to improve the lives of people living in developing countries by providing useful technologies are indeed commendable. Some well-meaning interventions can be clearly traced, and the millions of dollars spent for development can be accounted for in the form of positive impacts. In contrast, there are some technologies which are either not traced or have negligible impact on society. In some cases, unfortunately, the impact of a new technology can even be negative.
