ABSTRACT
How do diverse contributions in this volume speak with each other and how do we draw generalizable insights for improving natural resource governance? Why did we choose ‘adaptive collaborative approach’ as the main title of the book and why do we suggest the need for ‘rethinking participation, learning and innovation’ in the title? This chapter maps out the complex terrain of adaptive collaborative approaches, and then identifies some important conceptual issues running through the case study chapters.
