ABSTRACT

At this juncture, the authors have done their part. They have presented 22 studies in a reasonably accessible form, and they have tried to serve as a catalyst for your thinking by commenting on the studies and by providing the reactions of a teacher educator, and veteran practitioners (primary and post-primary). Our hope now is that you have become sufficiently intrigued to find yourself thinking about the next possible steps in the form of plans that will move you from reading to action. If you decide to use any of the valuables found in this book in your own teaching, you will become one of an elite group of teachers who have taken the long step to cross the gap between research and practice.
