ABSTRACT

Some years ago I [HG] began to notice that the young people whom I was teaching were most ready to talk about their feelings and problems when together in an art group. This realisation coincided with an advertisement for a person-centred art therapy course, and these combined to set me off on a new and formative journey. What followed was the discovery of a fascinating world in which, through using my own images, I experienced an awareness of the great potential for exploration and change that art therapy offers each individual person.
