ABSTRACT

In this chapter I wish to share how the ‘not-knowing’ (Anderson and Goolishian 1992) stance in narrative therapies has influenced my practice as a dramatherapist within a residential and educational set-up. Knowing about not knowing has allowed a fostering of newness within me as a dramatherapist working in a context where knowing the right answers is considered as important. This ‘newness’ has influenced the work with the clients I meet, mostly male latency-aged children, adolescents and their families.
