ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with building content and statistical specifications. Specifically, classroom assessments, large-scale educational assessments, and licensure and certification exams are discussed. Additionally, the content and statistical specifications for the ACT and the Praxis Series are detailed for illustration purposes. Finally, several practical issues are discussed, including factors affecting the specifications, polytomous items, and test mode considerations.
