ABSTRACT
Journalists who don’t have a strong working knowledge of the law as it affects the media pose a real danger to their publications. Just because magazine journalists may not be covering the criminal courts daily or exposing wrongdoing through major investigations, as would be expected of a newspaper reporter, this does not mean they won’t face potentially expensive defamation or privacy actions at some point in their careers.
