ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the lessons that can be drawn from experience with Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD) to inform policies and programs for agricultural climate change mitigation. 1 As an international mechanism to avoid increased emissions in the forest sector, REDD’s history yields insights about the international policy process and the elements that could facilitate successful approaches to agricultural mitigation.
