ABSTRACT
In 2001 Jacqui True and I undertook to write a paper that articulated the methodological core of diverse feminist contributions to International Relations (IR) and the key features of a critical feminist IR theory (Ackerly and True 2006). Andrew Linklater and Robert Cox were early and engaged commentators on that paper. Their critical engagement was directly with the substance of the paper and thinking through their comments greatly improved the project, so it is a thrill for me to be invited to comment on their work.
