The article opened a discussion week on the topic, which raged around the impact of online music journalism, the closures of print magazines and depressed state of the industry as a whole. Echoing other concerns at the ‘demise’ of the profession, the debate pivots on a belief there has been a golden age of music journalism, which no longer exists.
