Managing Ambivalence: Pakistan's Relations with the United States and China since 2001

Pakistan's relations with India consume a great deal of its foreign policy energies. However, its relations with the United States and China, allies at various times in its history, are almost as demanding, if not more so. This chapter traces Pakistan's relations with both these great powers in the wake of 11 September 2001 (9/11).
