ABSTRACT

I regard writing as a form of activism and political practice. I write to motivate people to take action against some form of injustice. I want to inform and engage readers so that they feel compelled to become involved in social action for change. So I am interested in writing as a site of resistance, where I can express my political commitments. In this chapter I explore the politics of writing about privilege by reflecting upon my use of memory-work, autobiographical memoir and participatory experiential research in my academic writing and research about and against privilege.
