ABSTRACT
Global, globalization, global world and global context are all concepts that add further dimensions to the more traditional terms international and internationalisation. ‘Global’ and ‘international’ are semantically very close but not the same: global implies one world, whereas international refers to a political and cultural complex of countries. While ‘international’ has retained its meaning, ‘global’ has expanded into a semantically more varied concept with sociocultural implications.
