ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the concept of the global citizen as a mechanism for change and looks at the potential of geography as a subject to contribute to this. This inevitably means considering what kind of future society and, therefore, what kind of schools we want. It also means reflecting on what teachers and educators can do at the personal and institutional levels to bring about this change, and how this relates to change locally and globally.
