ABSTRACT

This paper briefly reviews existing research on non-fatal alcohol-related casualties in Finland, excluding traffic accidents. The principles of alcohol detection in clinical settings and the National Hospital Discharge Register are described. Suggestions for improvements to facilitate research are presented.
