ABSTRACT

This chapter examines two Asian neighbourhoods or ‘Chinatowns’ in Belgium—in Antwerp (Pang and Hauquier 2006; Pang 2007) and Brussels (Hsu 2007)—through the theoretical lens of immigrant entrepreneurs in the urban political and symbolic economies. My main aim is to analyse ‘Chinatown on display’ as a place consumed by both Chinese and non-Chinese.
