ABSTRACT

An aim of this book is to rethink the knowledge base of organisation theory. I agree with Schön (1995) that we need to move from traditional forms of scholarship and develop new ones. This move will take some effort. It involves serious debates about the legitimacy of the research paradigm one chooses to work in and its epistemology. In revolutions, it is important to be as familiar as possible with the situation one is attempting to change, in order to show how the current situation has potential to transform into a more improved version of itself, and why the new version might hold greater promise for social betterment.
