Introduction The subject of this chapter is children with behavioural difficulties; by behavioural difficulties, I mean social as opposed to academic behaviour but it is true to say that the two are not mutually exclusive. There are many studies which have established a correlation between academic performance and social behaviour, but little evidence exists to illustrate the direction of any causal links between them.
